After introducing themselves to the webinar participants, Ross explained why they have chosen the topic “If I Was Starting Again.”
Ross explains:
So we chose this topic “If I Was Starting Again” because we’re aware that many people are actually starting out on their infrastructure asset management journey.
And what you learn along the way is that there are some things that work and some things that don’t so well. What we decided we do, we start a series of webinars.
So this one would be the first one on just the wisdom we’ve collected over the last 15, 20 years around this topic, helping before a lot of clients and even our own employers through setting up infrastructure asset management processes and systems and directions and things like that.
Grant:
And even last week, I was talking to people who are on a different part of their journey.
People who are asking the questions should we be taking a bottom-up approach and really getting into the engine room and building this infrastructure asset management process.
Or should we be taking a top-down approach where we were looking at using a more management strategic approach we would be looking at what we should be doing.
And that’s one of the things that we want to talk about this morning, or this afternoon for some of you about what we should be taking at, bottom-up approach or top-down, or is it a combination of the two.
Ross:
Yes, so we’re just going to, as you see, we have ready some slides, we can talk all day and probably there’s more about them. We have an hour with the webinar but we’re also very happy to have any questions.
So what we think we might do is just to start with the first slide and talk a bit about that and maybe for five minutes or so and then we’ll take questions if there are any there at that stage.
