The Association of Hydrologists of India (AHI) was initiated in 1981 with the objectives of providing a common platform to all the scientists belonging to the subjects of geology, geophysics, geohydrology, meteorology, engineering, remote sensing, geochemistry, social scientists and the like interested in fostering, developing and adapting new techniques in conserving water resources and distributing them equitably over the surface of the earth.
The AHI is an accredited member of the United Nations Committee on Environment and Development (UNCED), Committee on Sustainable Development (CSD), and Global Water Partnership (GWP), South Asia.
