Inframanage.com contributors Dr. Theuns Henning and Ross Waugh attended the IMPCA9 Conference in Washington DC on 18-21 May 2015.
IMPCA9 is a major international conference on the management of pavement assets.
Conference topics of discussion will include:
- The “next generation” of pavement management systems;
- Sustainable design, construction, maintenance, and operation of pavement assets;
- Performance measurement, implementation targets and contractual requirements;
- Increasing the accountability of the various asset management stakeholders;
- Innovative, effective, and sustainable pavement management practices and applications.
The main theme of the conference was “Moving Pavement Management beyond the Short-Term: Embracing Innovation and Addressing Sustainability, Accountability, and Improved Performance.”
The conference built on this theme and looked into what were the short, medium, and long-term challenges and opportunities that lay ahead for our field.
